About the event

The Digital Rosetta Stone Project

Dr Franziska Naether (University of Leipzig)

19 March, 18:30, Franschhoek Theatre

How do we crack the code of the ancients? In 1822, the Rosetta Stone unlocked the world of Egyptian hieroglyphs. Today, Egyptologists are using 3D scanning and innovative digital tools to preserve and analyze these ancient scripts with more precision than ever before. Join Egyptologist and papyrologist Dr Franziska Naether as she discusses the international project to digitize the Stone and share new insights into the ancient world.
